RE: 5er to Class A for the Family. Worth it?

Remember to consider the MH will need an oil & lube job ($250 approx) and insurance. You have a 2nd motored vehicle to take care of and do maintenance. Good grief......not on a gasser....highest I have paid is $60.00 and that was for synthetic oil. Motorhome insurance is much much cheaper than a car or truck!!!! Check it out.....

RE: Story # 1 tonight..........

I have a friend of my son doing about the same plus painting room after room. I pay him cash $20.00 per hour. I would have to pay a pro painter $35.00 so why should I take advantage of the young man. He works hard, is fast and does a great job. My wages will give him a chance to actually survive in todays world and save for a car.

RE: TomTom GPS?

My Tom Tom is my lifeline for emergency help......recently by myself camped in a remote area of a national forest. I clicked on "where am I"....it gave co ordinates and info like how many hundred yards from forest road x and y. Option to click for emergency help...my location would be sent to police, medical help etc. Priceless.

RE: Anyone got an adult child living at home?

My adult son pays $300.00 per month for room rent. That does not include his groceries. I am appalled at your son's attitude.....!! Put him on the defensive.....how about telling him you have checked into the going rate and it is $300.00 for one and $400.00 for two. (I checked) (food not included). If he thinks it too much show him the door so he can get a realistic outlook on life. Make him feel the guilt since he is taking advantage of you. They will only walk on you if you act like a rug. Good luck, Andrea

RE: ARKANSAS LAKE FRONT BOONDOCKING

Thank you so very much for taking the time to post about such a wonderful camping spot. I plan on exploring the area in the fall......27ft class A with my dog. What if I meet someone on the road....is there enough room to pull off to the side?

RE: Replacing front coil springs on 1989 p30

I have a 89 p30. I had front air bags replaced six years ago. The right one lost pressure to 0 recently so I deflated the other. I also, cannot tell a difference in the ride so not replacing again.

RE: staring a forum

InvisionFree is free and user friendly. I use it for a group of single RVers. Most of us post every day and post pictures easily. Good luck!

RE: Winter 2008/2009

Welcome to RV. Net and the Snowbirds forum! I loved the Tucson area when I traveled out there one winter. Because of gas prices and the longer distance for me coming from Minnesota I will probably return to Texas (first winter was 1997) I have never stayed in the RGV but rather a short distance up the coast in the Corpus Christi area. This coming winter I am hoping to get a reservation at the Sand Dollar in the Rockport, TX area or at a campground on Baffin Bay. I have to wait until the end of this month to ensure the regular returnees have first dibs. (my Mexico trip may be postponed re fuel costs) What ever you choose in Texas I think you will find it so very interesting in its multiple terrains that you will want to return. Have a great day, Andrea

RE: Uh Uh Um what do I need?

I have a 27 ft class A....it has the standard on board LP tank, I think it is 80 lb..that supplies gas for stove top and the refrigerator. I have 2 20 lb pound lp tanks in a outside storage. A hose goes up from one to a wall placed blue flame heater. (furnace works but too inefficient) I have been stranded in snow storms hence the extra tank for heat if need be. I have three deep cycle batteries and have added 3 12 volt receptacles in various locations with small (200 watt inverters) for various uses. I have a small 1500 watt generator (5 1/2 hours to one gal gas) to charge the batteries. I have a on board 4.0 Owan generator that I rarely used so no longer bother with it. I don't think the cost of solar installation would serve me well since I am parked in the shade usually. (boondock) I have two fantastic fans in the ceiling. Three 12 volt low draw fans to plug into various places as need be. 60 gal fresh water tank and carry extra on my rear hitch hauler (Sears air compressor for the tires also sits there with the small generator). I think my gray tank is 60 or 50 and the black is 40. Bring my Directv receiver from home and watch television for a short time most but not all days. Have an internet card for computer (may or may not pick up in a remote area) Just ordered an "old fashioned" table radio that will bring in radio stations from around the country on AM in the evening. It is wood encased and supposed to have excellent sound. Just me and my dog so we are good for a couple of weeks.... Most of my camping is free and once in awhile I pay $4.00 when traveling. I have met the neatest people camping in this great country of ours. Have a great day, Andrea

RE: Storing TT in Northern Florida; precautions?

I lived in central Fl for ten years....the humidity will be brutal...leave all cabinet doors open...a couple of windows a crack...any way to get a bit of air flow. Also, put down some kind of pesticide around the tires...anything that touches the ground. I wonder about the "covering". I would think it might enhance mildew formation on the outside of the RV. I miss Fl. Have a great day, Andrea

WaMu online CDs......

I am hoping to be gone from home on some extended RV trips in the coming year. Because of ease of banking when away from home I am considering not using my local bank but instead WaMu for "online CD investment". (also the interest rate is slightly better than using a bank where I would have everything in paper copy. Anyone have any experience and advice re doing this in regard to service. Also, I have recently read that there may be fees charged me for buying a CD. Are banking type institutions doing this now? Thank you and have a great day, Andrea
